Provenance
According to donor, the book was owned by Caleb Sipple Layton (1798-1882). Layton was a lawyer, member of the Delaware House of Representatives, a state senator, secretary of State of Delaware, and Associate Justice of the Delaware Superior Court. He was a reisent of Sussex County. Donor is a counsin twice removed. Donor received it from his great aunt, Ann L. Layton of Georgeotwn.
