Description

Powder horn found in the rafters of the summer kitchen of Nehemiah Lofland's house, 114 Broad Street, Milton. Wooden plug and top, with metal rim and a metal screw in the top. The house where the powder horn was discovered was built by Nehemiah in 1800. Nehemiah served in the defense of Lewes in 1813. He, his wife Nancy Riley Lofland, son Erasmus (or Rasmus) Lofland, and daughter-in-law Mary occupied the house continuously until Mary's death in 1924.
